Teresa Wilkie is a Senior Rig Market Analyst within the RigLogix team and is primarily responsible for coverage of the Northwest Europe and African offshore rig markets. After gaining a BA (Hons) degree in Journalism and working freelance for a few years, Teresa moved into the oil and gas industry in 2011. Teresa has now worked in several analytical and research focused roles, the first of which was at IHS-Markit legacy company Offshore Data Services (ODS-Petrodata). During her term with IHS she was part of the Rig and Field Development teams and took over as product manager for ConstructionVesselBase in 2014. Teresa joined the RigLogix team as a reporter and analyst as part of RigZone in 2016.
Gavin has over 35 years of oil and gas industry experience both in the operating and service sectors. After working for Conoco as a Petroleum Engineer and Hamilton Oil Company as Production Engineering Manager, he joined Expro International in 1995 progressing through a variety of Executive roles, onto COO and ultimately CEO. Mr. Prise holds a BSc Hons in Natural Philosophy from Aberdeen University and a MEng in Petroleum Engineering from Herriot Watt University.
Over the last few years Gavin has Chaired a number of private equity-backed companies to successful exit including Intelligent Well Control, Meta Downhole and Read Cased Hole. He is currently also Chairman of start-up technology provider Morphpackers and an Operating Partner for Energy Ventures Private Equity.
Rune Jensen has 33 years of industry experience covering Oil & Gas, Financial Services, Publishing, Information & Communications Technology and Private Equity, of which 24 years as CEO/Managing Partner. Rune has worked with growth and turnaround processes throughout his career both from a Top Management and a Board perspective, with CEO and Chairmanship responsibilities in 13 European countries plus in North America and Asia. Rune Jensen was the Founder and managing partner of the Private Equity Fund Manager Progressus since 2006. Before this he was the CEO of Allianse, an ICT turnaround investment that was taken public on the Oslo stock exchange and later acquired by Ergo Group (now Evry).
Kevin Raby has over 29 years of industry experience covering energy, analytics, information services, information technology and management consulting. The past several years have included executive leadership roles at IHS (now IHS Markit) and Halliburton’s Landmark business unit. In addition to serving on IHS’ Operating Leadership Team, Kevin’s level of responsibility have recently included executive P&L responsibility for in excess of $250 million in annual revenues and greater than 800 global colleagues. Kevin also served as SVP, Resources, Operations while at IHS, a business unit approximating $1 billion in annual revenue and over 2,000 global colleagues. Prior to IHS and Halliburton, Kevin served as a Vice President /Partner and Atlanta Area Leader at Ernst and Young (CGEY) Consulting and Partner, Accenture Strategy.
Kevin holds a BS Degree in Public Accounting and completed the Executive Development Program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Kevin is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Global Management Accountant. Kevin has served on the Boards of the Ed Isaakson Family YMCA and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Board of Advisors.
Tomas Hvamb has 9 years of industry experience. He joined Energy Ventures in 2013 following 5 years with Barclays Bank where he was responsible for managing the company’s oil & gas services buyout portfolio and leading corporate leverage transactions. Education: Executive MBA in Energy Management from BI Norwegian School of Management (Oslo), Bachelor of Applied Finance from Maquire University (Sydney)
Exploration and Development leader with experience throughout the UK, Norway, Denmark and internationally in the NW Europe, Caspian, North Africa, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and South-east Asia regions. Ian has a successful track record as an oil finder, and in exploration, technical and business management and has worked with Amoco, Conoco and Amerada Hess. Ian was previously CEO of Hannon Westwood and has transitioned into a non-executive role on the board.
Doug Montgomery was formerly global head of sales and an executive director for Wood Mackenzie. He worked with Wood Mackenzie for over 28 years leading the company through a management buy-out from Deutsche Bank in 2001 and throughout a period of exponential growth, with multiple private equity transactions, through to the eventual sale to Verisk Analytics in 2015. Doug has joined the ESIA board as a non-executive director.
Chief Executive Officer
Dominic has over 20 years commercial and operational experience in the oil and gas industry, starting his career during the de-regulation of the UK gas market working for Total. He then moved to Eni to create and lead the operational management of their NW European gas portfolio as well as negotiating the first sales of portfolio gas to industrial and commercial clients outside of Italy. In 2004 Dominic moved to Asia to manage the LNG shipping and operations of the Vico operated Sanga Sanga PSC on behalf of Eni & BP. This was followed by time in Italy as International Contracts & Negotiations Manager for Libya. In 2008 Dominic moved to Wood Mackenzie building their Gas & Power client base before leading their European sales business under private equity ownership. Latterly Dominic defined Wood Mackenzie’s chemical sales strategy after a series of acquisitions. Over his time at Wood Mackenzie Dominic was also an inaugural member of their Gender & Diversity Team working passionately to create opportunity for all. Dominic Joined Westwood in 2018.
Chief Financial Officer
David trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in Aberdeen moving from their audit department into Corporate Finance in 2005. Through his time with KPMG, David was involved in executing high profile oilfield service transactions in the international market with a combined value over $1bn and subsequently joined Bank of Scotland’s Integrated Finance division to assist in identifying and executing oilfield service investments. In 2008 David joined private equity backed international oilfield service company Reservoir Group. David was responsible for leading the strategic development and execution of the company’s buy and build strategy, completing over 20 international deals and forming part of the senior management team that achieved five-fold growth in the size of the company culminating in a successful exit to ALS Limited in 2013. David joined Westwood Global Energy in February 2015 to assist the company with the execution of its organic and acquisitive growth aspirations.
Dr Keith Myers
Keith Myers is President of Research at Westwood Global Energy, responsible for research across the business. Keith joined BP in 1987, having graduated with a geology PhD at Imperial College. Following a variety of technical roles, he became Senior Commercial Advisor leading several major business negotiations for new business access. He also led strategy for BP’s business in West Africa in the Strategic Alliance with Statoil. After leaving BP in 2000, Keith was an advisor to numerous energy companies on strategy and partnership issues. Keith founded Richmond Energy Partners in 2006 to provide independent advice to investors in smaller oil and gas companies. REP advised some of the largest funds and institutions investing in the sector and provided exploration strategy and benchmarking services for the global exploration industry. REP launched Wildcat, the online global exploration intelligence service in 2014 and REP became part of Westwood Global Energy Group in 2015. Keith takes a keen interest in the oil sector governance and serves as a member of the advisory group for the Natural Resource Governance Institute.
Head of Northwest Europe
As Head of Research for Northwest Europe, Emma is responsible for the delivery of E&P research for the region and the ongoing management, development, and growth of the team and its products. Emma has extensive experience in oil and gas research having spent over 10 years at Wood Mackenzie where she led teams delivering commercial insight to clients in Europe and Asia. An experienced project manager, Emma will be developing relationships with clients and matching their requirements against Westwood Global Energy Group’s research offerings to enhance current products and generate new services.
Head of Global Exploration and Appraisal
Graeme joined Westwood as Head of Global E&A in February 2019. He joined BP in 1984 having completed an MSc in Geophysics at Oxford University. He held a number of technical positions in Oman, UK and Venezuela covering activities from Exploration to Production. Graeme was involved in number of discoveries West of Shetland and the FID of several North Sea fields. He led the application of 4D seismic data over the Foinaven and Schiehallion fields. He spent 7 years in Egypt as Exploration Manager before returning to UK to lead the recruitment, development and deployment of staff in BP’s global exploration organisation. He moved to Maersk Oil in Copenhagen in 2014 as Head of Exploration Technology and Capability before forming his own company, Exploration Excellence Ltd., helping companies to become Great Explorers. As Head of Global E&A for Westwood, Graeme leads the team responsible for the Wildcat product, providing deep technical insight to help companies understand their exploration and appraisal performance and how to improve it.
Head of Rigs & Wells
Steve is an energy sector economist and business analyst with sector expertise in oilfield services and equipment. He joined Douglas-Westwood in 2002 and was initially responsible for authoring of published researched reports and execution of bespoke consulting engagements within the oilfield services, equipment and engineering sectors. He subsequently headed-up DW’s EMEA Consulting group and was appointed to the DW Board in 2009. He has managed several hundred consulting projects for DW including transactions mandates with investment banks and private equity firms providing commercial due diligence for M&A and IPOs totalling tens of $ billion in value. In 2015 he took on a new role within DW heading up the Research group responsible for the in-house data, models and published products for the firm. He is a regular keynote speaker at OFS industry events and a member of the Energy Institute and the Society for Underwater Technology. At WGEG he heads the Oilfield Services Research group and is based in Faversham and London offices.
Head of Offshore
Thom has been a member of DW’s analyst team since 2006 and is involved in research, market modelling and analysis for a range of sectors throughout the upstream oil & gas supply chain. To date Thom has completed an extensive range of subsea and offshore-related projects for a variety of audiences throughout the financial, government and industry sectors and is an author of DW’s subsea and vessel market reports. Recent experience includes an in-depth market analysis of the Asian EPC market and commercial environment for a major piece of strategy work for a leading Korean EPC firm. Thom is a law graduate from the University of Kent and also holds an MA in Political Sociology with a focus on EU Foreign, Security & Energy policy.
VP of Technology & Data
Boyd is VP of Technology and Data at Westwood Global Energy. He co-founded Energent Group and was previously a Director at Rignet where he relaunched their Products and Solutions Group. Building on his extensive experience of delivering software-as-a-service solutions, Boyd has led the conceptual design and implementation of Westwood’s new OFS platform including Riglogix. He has an MBA from Rice University and in his spare time enjoys coaching junior league baseball.
Head of US Unconventionals
Todd joined Chevron in 2007 following graduate school at Rice University. He led digital oilfield, lean six sigma, and competitive intelligence initiatives for Chevron’s Mid-Continent business unit working with asset teams across the Lower 48.
In 2012, he founded Energent Group to deliver market insights to underserved companies across drilling & hydraulic fracturing markets. Using well lifecycle information, Energent provides bottoms-up analysis to guide strategic commercial and operational decisions. Energent works with E&Ps, service, suppliers, and finance companies who need to understand U.S. shale market. In 2017, Energent was acquired by Westwood Global Energy Group to advance the company’s North America commercial intelligence offering.
As Upstream shifted to cost efficiencies and completion optimization, Todd focused on completion methods, frac sand, fluids, chemicals, and hydraulic horsepower required to meet shale operator demands.
Todd is an alumnus of Texas A&M University and serves as an advisor and mentor to current students.
Head of Consulting
Arindam Das started as a Director in Westwood’s London office in May 2016 and leads the firm’s consulting engagements in Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Arindam has over 15 years of experience in the provision of commercial and financial advisory services to clients in the energy industry. He started his career as a Field Engineer with Baker Hughes in the US Gulf of Mexico, followed by a decade of experience in energy-related Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Raising and Principal Investments. Arindam’s international work experience encompasses India, USA, UK and Canada.
Arindam holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a MBA (Finance) from Queen’s University in Canada.
Head of Product Development & Technology
Malcolm Ricketts, Head of Product Development & Technology, is leading Westwood Global Energy Group’s development of its data and product offerings to deliver solutions that address the needs of our clients. Malcolm, who was formerly Head of the Oil and Gas Division at the Scottish Government, and previously Senior Analyst with Wood Mackenzie over a ten-year period, is an exceptionally experienced oil and gas professional with a 20-year career in the sector. Malcolm has extensive expertise in analysing, interpreting and providing commercial and economic insights on upstream assets, companies and associated infrastructure.
With his industry background, and industry network, Malcolm is well-placed in driving the business’ commercial proposition.
Group Head of Marketing Strategy
Gareth is a B2B marketing specialist with experience across energy, natural resources and underground construction, spanning the last 20-years. He joined Westwood in 2016, initially responsible for the marketing and sales of Douglas Westwood oilfield services reports and subscriptions. Further to this, Gareth’s remit expanded to include new businesses joining the Group and subsequently, now leads marketing strategy across all Westwood’s business units.
Head of Sales & Marketing, Global Exploration
Rhona is an experienced business development and account manager for products and services within the energy industry. Rhona joined Wood Mackenzie in 2010 and was responsible for new business development and key account management for independent E&P companies and clients operating within the gas & power and renewables sector in the UK and Europe. In 2015 Rhona joined Argus Media, a leading provider of price assessments, business intelligence reports and market data for the global energy and commodities markets. Rhona developed the key relationships between Argus and its global key accounts, which included oil and gas majors, trading houses and large financial institutions. Rhona joined the WGEG in 2016 to manage the existing client relationships and to introduce our exploration strategy and benchmarking services across the industry to new clients.
Head of Business Development RigLogix
Ryan began his career in oil and gas after a long tenured career within the automotive industry. The majority of Ryan’s automotive career was with Federal Assembly Inc. in business development and marketing. After expanding a staff of in-house QA personnel within a Tier I supplier to Toyota from 30 to as many as 92. Ryan then created a spin-off operation providing on-site sub assembly and QA/QC services to various clients.
Ryan applied his business development knowledge and technical experience in entering the oil and gas industry in 2010, joining Flour working in business development and recruitment primarily within the LNG and EPCI teams. Ryan joined Rigzone’s RigLogix team in 2012 providing sales and business development/marketing within the Americas and Asia regions and achieved record new business sales. He continued these efforts through the acquisition of RigLogix by Westwood Global Energy Group in February 2018.
Rigs and Wells Sales Manager
Leslie is a seasoned sales and business development specialist with over a decade of enterprise wide solution sales experience in various industries and a proven track record of business growth, relationship management and winning new business.
Leslie applied his sales and business development skillsets and experience when entering the offshore market intelligence industry in 2008, joining ODS-Petrodata, where he started as an Account Manager for China and India markets. After two years, he assumed the role of Head of Asia Pacific sales. During this time Leslie worked with varied clients from national oil companies, independents, financial institutions, service companies and government regulatory authorities offering news, market insights and forecasts for the offshore rig, marine and offshore construction segments of the oil and gas industry.
Following the IHS acquisition of ODS-Petrodata in 2011 and subsequently through the merger of IHS and Markit in 2016, Leslie held the role of Head of Upstream Sales at IHS, where he was then responsible for all Upstream energy services including energy asset valuation tools.
Accounts and Client Services Manager
Wendy has held various roles within the oil and gas industry since 1998 with responsibilities including product development, project management, change leadership, software engineering and client management. After eight years with an international reservoir geomechanics firm, Wendy joined the RigLogix’s team in mid-2011 as a data analyst. She quickly assumed the responsibility for both sales and support and eventually created Client Services for all the group’s emerging products. Wendy is now responsible for the management of RigLogix client accounts and all technical support and training. In addition, she is responsible for product development coordination and marketing support. Wendy assisted in performing the team’s due diligence during the acquisition of RigLoix by Westwood Global Energy Group in February 2018.
Pearse manages existing client relationships and new business for Westwood Energy’s Energent products and services. He joined the Houston-based team at Westwood Energy Group in the summer of 2017 after spending five years in the accounts team at Energy Intelligence, a market intelligence company based in London and New York City.
Pearse has previously worked in New York City, Oslo, and Beijing. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Fordham University in New York City.
Account Manager, US
Katie grew up in East Texas and is a second-generation oil and gas professional whom was exposed to rigs and frac sites at an early age. She began her career with GoFrac, starting in the field to learn the frac process, then moved into sales. Additionally, Katie has worked for TOPS Well Services and Baker Hughes selling frac and cement jobs in all US shale plays. Prior to her role at Energent, Katie sold oil and gas data for two years at NavPort / RSEG.
Katie earned a Biology degree from Texas Christian University and is an active member of SPE, COGA, Denver Petroleum Club (DPC), and recently completed DPC’s Mentor / Mentee program.
Valentino Monroy Gomez
Valentino manages existing client relationships and new business for Westwood Energy’s Atlas & Analytics products in the Aberdeen and London regions. Valentino joined Westwood Energy Group in the summer of 2018 and brings over 5 years of technical experience in the upstream sector.
Prior to joining Westwood Energy, Valentino worked as a Geoscience Consultant. He has worked internationally in Houston, Oslo and Port of Spain advising multinational oil and gas companies on geological processes using advanced modelling software. He has also worked as an Exploration Geologist for an oil and gas operator, focusing on prospectivity in the Central North Sea.
Valentino holds an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland and a BSc with Hons in Geology and Physical Geography from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Alex has over 6 years of Sales, Business Development, and Account Management Experience, 5 of which have been in the E&P Sector. After working in oil & gas recruitment for 3 years, he broadened his knowledge in the sub-surface disciplines and supported operators in building their teams of geologists and reservoir engineers worldwide. In 2016, Alex joined Interfax Global Energy as Sales and Business Development Manager for the global LNG sector, where he was responsible for providing insight to energy companies through pricing forecasts and analysis.
In June 2018, Alex joined Westwood Global Energy Group as Client Manager for the company’s Northwest Europe focus. He is currently responsible for client engagement, retention of business as well as new business development across the UK, Norway and the Netherlands. He works closely with the research, consulting and the wider sales teams to drive growth.
Alex is fluent in Norwegian and has a Bachelors in Geography from Keele University.
Joining ODS-Petrodata as Business Development/ Sales Manager EMEA in 2009, Phill was responsible for building and leading a team of six Sales Specialists across the region, promoting the sales of upstream database products. Covering the Global Rig, Supply Vessel, FPSO, Seismic and Field Development markets.
In 2011 Phill moved into a Business Development EMEA role, with product responsibilities for ESP design and analysis, nodal and well analysis software solutions.
In early 2013 he was promoted to Technical Services Manager where he led a team of ten Customer Solutions Advisors, based in Moscow, London and Dubai, including two training managers. Covering subsurface interpretation software and engineering products.
Head of RigLogix
Terry is the Head of RigLogix and is responsible for leading the research and insights into the worldwide offshore rig market. Terry has 35+ years of experience tracking and writing about the offshore rig market within various research focused roles and direct with the rig contractors. Terry started his career with IHS-Petrodata legacy company Offshore Data Services, followed by a period marketing rigs for ENSCO in the Gulf of Mexico. Terry then returned to the market intelligence side of the business, with further positions at DrillingInfo and RigData before joining the RigLogix team within Rigzone in December 2014 leading the operations of the Data Services group through to the acquisition of RigLogix by Westwood Global Energy Group in February 2018.
Now based in London, Matt has led a range of commercial due diligence and market intelligence studies focusing on the international drilling, oilfield equipment and energy infrastructure sectors. He specializes in analysis of equipment markets in the rigs and wells sector. His previous experience includes posts as a Consultant to the United Nations and to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain, both in the Middle East region. Within Westwood he spent four years based in the USA, primarily Houston, leading our Americas oilfield services consulting mandates.
Matt has presented at a wide range of industry events, including the Middle East Iron & Steel Conference, Offshore Technology Conference, Floating LNG USA and many others, and has headed up global market studies and acquisition diligence relating to firms active in onshore drilling, corrosion resistant alloys, line pipe manufacture and OCTG.
Matt is a graduate of the London School of Economics, an Arabic speaker, a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and of the Society for Underwater Technology.
Joe is a geologist with over 30 years in the Oil and Gas Industry: after 5 years with Exxon as exploration and development geologist; he moved to Petrofina in 1986 and held various management roles including Exploration Manager in the UK and Director of Exploration in Italy. He set up his own business, JSI Services, in 2000 providing a summary and analysis of international exploration deals covering all parts of the world except North America. Since 2000 he has provided a technical review of over 4000 farm outs in 132 different countries and analysis of the farm out market trends. JSI Services was acquired by Westwood Global Energy in 2019.
Reports Manager, NW Europe
David is a Senior Technical Analyst at Westwood Global Energy. He started with North Sea intelligence providers Hannon Westwood in 2010 before the company recently transitioned to Westwood Global Energy. In his current role he looks after much of the E&A analysis and report output for Westwood’s NW Europe upstream Atlas product and has regular commentary in various industry publications. He has a Masters in Geoscience from Keele University.
Kathryn is part of the consultancy team at Westwood Global Energy, mainly working on bespoke consultancy projects, including specific analysis across various sectors of the oilfield services industry. Since joining in 2013, she has conducted a number of market review, due diligence and strategic support studies for major drillers, marine contractors and equipment manufacturers, among others. She has comprehensive experience in market modelling, supply chain mapping, macroeconomic evaluation and competitive analysis. Kathryn holds an honours degree in Economics from Queen Mary University of London.
Matt specialises in economic modelling and data science/analysis, with a keen working interest and knowledge of oilfield engineering and equipment application. Matt joined Westwood in September 2014 after completing a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Kent and an internship within the International Climate Finance team at DECC. Since joining Westwood, Matt has been lead author of numerous industry reports, including Drilling & Production, Oilfield Equipment, Drilling & Well Services, Offshore MMO, Offshore Wind and Offshore Helicopters. Now part of the Rigs & Wells team, Matt leads the development and maintenance of multiple Sectors modules and internal databases, as well as having editorial and authorship responsibilities.
Jamie joined Richmond Energy Partners in 2015, immediately prior to it becoming part of Westwood Global Energy. Jamie’s role as analyst includes a variety of responsibilities, from day to day updates of the Wildcat exploration service to preparing research notes and presentations for clients. His regional focus is on Africa. Jamie holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Bristol and a MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Manchester.
Mark is part of the analyst research team at Westwood Global Energy. Since joining the firm in 2013, Mark has authored several of the firm’s offshore industry market reports and is actively involved in conducting high-level research, data analysis and market modelling, with focus on offshore drilling, subsea vessels and subsea hardware installation activities. Mark holds a BSc degree in Geology and a Master’s degree from the University of South Wales in Geographic Information Systems.
Vikesh is an analyst in the Research E&A team leading Westwood’s global farm-out service, a unique tool to identify, track and analyse farm out opportunities. Vikesh joined the Wildcat team in 2017 delivering global research reports and monitoring activity across North and South America. Prior to joining Westwood, Vikesh worked at BG Group where he gained a broad, international experience across the upstream value chain, working on several projects from new ventures exploration to field development drilling. Vikesh also has prior consultancy experience at Getech Group Plc and Rock Deformation Research (now owned by Schlumberger).
Vikesh has an undergraduate degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Leeds and a Masters in Petroleum Geology from Imperial College, London.
