NCS Exploration Strategy

Oil companies on the NCS present exploration plans and strategies for 2026.

Alyson Harding and Stephen Coomber will be presenting at this year’s event. They will look at how High Impact (HI) wells drilled worldwide in 2025 have resulted in 16 commercial discoveries across 12 basins. Where does Norway fit into the statistics for a decade of HI drilling? And of the E&A seismic data acquired globally over the last decade, Norway leads the way in acquiring new seismic data but is it being progressed to drilling? Westwood will analyse the data behind these questions and also review exploration activity and performance over the last decade on the NCS.
