The Role
Westwood Global Energy Group is hiring an Account Manager to support successful client retention and growth across our Global E&A and NW Europe business units.
The Global E&A team and our ‘Wildcat’ product provides client access to global exploration and appraisal activity and results, along with the most comprehensive insights into global exploration performance by basin, company and country. Many of these clients, especially the Supermajors, also subscribe to our Atlas product which offers a complete solution for the E&P, New Energies and Decommissioning industry in the UK and Norway.
This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to engage with the world’s leading explorers and senior leaders via our deep relationships across the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships across a portfolio of clients, ensuring that contracts are renewed, grown with appropriate commercial terms and cross-sell opportunities are identified
- Drive the development of new business opportunities, support sales across market segments and help open new avenues of growth, both through our subscription and consulting offerings
- Responsible for managing the ‘Majors’ portfolio, where key clients also subscribe to other Westwood products including our NW Europe ‘Atlas’ product
- Develop account plans to achieve penetration and grow revenue
- Extensive customer-facing activity including supporting users with product queries, identifying new contacts and opportunities for growth within customer accounts and expanding the user base within a client organisation to support renewals
- Develop both a senior and user-level network to understand and strengthen the relationship with clients, identify new research and consulting opportunities and help contribute to the design and future development of our research services
- Assist with marketing initiatives to promote the brand and products across our client base and complete other activities that will result in greater customer and account value
- Establish user champions / internal ambassadors within client accounts and help deliver quality onboarding process for new clients
- Gather strong working knowledge of competitor services and their developments
- Collaborate with colleagues and internal departments to achieve goals – act as the key point of contact for providing information to other departments on your assigned accounts to ensure excellent communication and efficient work among all team members
- Reporting and internal administration to include: CRM activity log, monthly reports to management, order administration, creating renewal analysis and preparing proposals
- Attending conferences when required which will assist in strengthening the Westwood brand and Wildcat’s presence in the industry
Experience & Skills
- Experience and knowledge of the oil and gas exploration industry
- 5 years+ experience selling subscription services content or consulting offerings
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage at both senior leadership and user level
- Good negotiation skills as well as a commercial, results oriented mindset
- Displays intellectual curiosity with the ability to learn and retain information quickly – success depends on excellent product and industry knowledge and how clients use and value the product.
- Self-motivated, confident, energetic, proactive with entrepreneurial spirit
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to foster effective and collaborative relationships within and across teams and reporting lines
- Competency working with IT applications and experience with Salesforce preferred
