The update to DW’s World Drilling & Production Market Forecast was released late this week but has already begun to feature in the news:

“DW’s deepwater drilling forecast for 2016-2021 is 44% lower – production is now anticipated to peak at 2.8 mmboe/d in 2019 before declining to 2.5 mmboe/d by 2021. Many of these slippages have been high-profile developments for their respective operators.”

Douglas-Westwood’s World Deepwater Market Forecast 2016-2020 which featured heavily in the news last week continued to generate interest:

“DW is forecasting that deepwater expenditure will total US$137 billion between 2016 and 2020, a 35 per cent decline compared to its previous deepwater forecast covering the 2015-2019 period. In the long run however, deepwater projects will remain cost-competitive.”
