(Aberdeen, UK) – 25 May 2017 – Westwood Global Energy Group (WGEG), the energy market research consultancy, has made a senior strategic hire, bringing on board Emma Cruickshank as Head of Research, Northwest Europe.

Emma spent over 10 years at commercial intelligence providers, Wood Mackenzie, most recently as a Senior Manager responsible for the strategy and development of its Research division. Prior to that role she led research teams delivering commercial insight to oil and gas clients both in Europe and Asia.

At WGEG, Emma will lead a team of analysts responsible for delivering E&P research for North West Europe. An experienced project manager, she will be developing relationships with clients and matching their requirements against WGEG’s current research offering to enhance current products and generate new services. Emma will also be looking for ways to working collaboratively and generate opportunities across the group following its recent re-organisation.

Part of the Group’s leadership team, she will be based at Westwood Global Energy Group’s office in London and report to its President of Research, Dr Keith Myers. He comments:

“Emma is an accomplished business leader who brings a unique set of skills to the group. She has a strong technical background and broad commercial experience, as well as being an outstanding research analyst. She will play a key part in our long-term strategy to become a major player in business intelligence and market analytics for the global energy sector.”

Emma Cruickshank adds: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Westwood Global Energy Group. Following the recent re-brand and integration of its subsidiary companies, the group is well placed to strengthen its position as a leading provider of research to the oil and gas industry.  Although it continues to be a particularly challenging time for the industry with maturing basins and low commodity prices, confidence is returning and there are still plenty of opportunities.  The Westwood research offerings can provide clients with valuable insight to oil and gas activities across the world and help them make informed decisions.  I look forward to working with the team and its clients to continue to build the Westwood brand and further develop its product offering.”

Westwood Global Energy Group is headquartered in Aberdeen with offices in London, Houston and Singapore and has over 60 employees.
