Energy Transition Insights newsletter
Welcome to Westwood’s Energy Transition Insights, a new monthly newsletter tracking energy transition opportunities for the oil and gas and broader energy sector. ‘Opportunities’ is the key word here: while it is easy to see regulation, electrification, net-zero targets and the like as threats to our business, in reality these changes perhaps represent the biggest potential upside our industry has ever seen.
While oil and gas has played a major role in the energy supply mix historically and will continue to do so over the next decade, there is growing societal awareness and acceptance to develop alternative fuel sources. Oil and gas companies have an exceptional opportunity to invest, lead and shape the transition, to a future where clean energy can be created and sold indefinitely.
Today, however, the way forward remains unclear. That is why we think it is important to cast a critical eye over significant developments in the energy transition, analysing them from an oil and gas perspective and weighing up the opportunities they present. This newsletter aims to combine a review of key headlines with a more in-depth analysis of a given topic. Our wish is that we will succeed in helping to inform your own energy transition strategy, and we stand ready at all times to assist you further in your planning.
